Gundam Wing Silver Anniversary: Manga, Other Media, & Etc.

Aside from the Gundam Wing anime, the story has been retold twice as manga. The story has continued on, as well, both with manga and with a multi-volume light novel series, Frozen Teardrop. Meanwhile, there's an entire different group over in G-Unit, which was localized as Last Outpost. (And that has a sequel being published right now in Japan!)

Did you have Episode Zero or Blind Target? Checked out The Glory of Losers?

How about any of the multitude of video games any number of Gundam Wing characters have appeared in? Dynasty Warriors: Gundam? Super Robot Wars? Or maybe just the Battle Assault series...

How does the cast fare when left in your hands?

I love Episode Zero and Blind Target is a good story. Right now I am up to book 3 of Glory and waiting for 4-6 to get here in the mail.

Glory has been really good so far. It feels like a blending of Ep Zero and the anime series so it has a more logical and wider flow than the original.

Yep, I own a fair amount of GW manga! Let me check my inventory list:

- The 1995-96 Kodansha GW manga (3 vol)
- GW: Battlefield of Pacifist (1997)
- The 1998 one-shot Kadokawa Shoten GW manga (1 vol)
- GW: Endless Waltz manga (1998)
- GW: Endless Waltz Newtype film book (1998)
- GW: Blind Target (1999)
- GW Endless Waltz: Glory of Losers (14 vol, 2011-2018)

...and I thought I had Episode Zero, but I don't! Something to rectify next time I'm poking around for used manga.

I also have a ROM (shhhhh) of GW: Endless Duel, the head-to-head fighting game, which I used to play a lot in college. Being a button masher who is very bad at getting the right attack combos, I discovered that the best way to play was to pick Colonel Une in Vayeate, use Vayeate's beam cannon like a bludgeon to drive my opponent over to the side of the screen, hit them and knock them down, and keep hitting them when they get up but before they have a chance to attack again. To no one's surprise, more than a few of my friends refused to play it with me after that. ^_^
